Billy Burns (OF, OAK) - Waiver Wire Analysis

BALLER MOVE: Add in 1o+ Team Leagues

OWNED IN: 16% of Fleaflicker Leagues

ANALYSIS: The Oakland Athletics recently lost their starting center fielder, Coco Crisp, to a neck injury till at least July.  In searching for a replacement the Oakland A's called up Billy Burns from AAA.  Since his call up he's been on fire.  In the last 15 games Burns is hitting .328 with a .516 slugging percentage with 6 stolen bases.  Burns doesn't have a lot of MLB experience but his minor league stats show that he can steal bases.  In the past 4 seasons he's tallied approximately 175 stolen bases (~44/season) and its likely that this will continue in the pros.  One this that is clear is that he will not continue to hit at the current pace he's at (.320 BA, .43o SLG, .795 OBP).  With Crisp out of the picture, Burns will be the leadoff man for the A's.  During that time he will likely contribute to your team in providing runs and stolen bases.  If you are looking for a short term solution or want to utilize Burns while he's hot, he's a nice waiver wire add for your team.  Just don't expect him to hit at this current pace.
