Brewers 'Willing To Trade' Carlos Gomez

The Milwaukee Brewers are willing to trade Carlos Gomez, according to CBS Sports.

Gomez, 29, will be a free agent following the 2016 MLB season. The centerfielder is making $8 million this season and $9 million next year. The Brewers might not be able to resign him since his asking price could be very high.

As a member of the Brewers, Gomez has become a breakout star. He made the NL All-Star team in 2013 and 2014. He had a combined 47 HR with 146 RBI, 74 SB, and .284 BA across 2013-2014.

This season has been filled with injuries for the outfielder. He’s only played in 62 games but has 8 HR and 41 RBI with 7 SB and a .273 BA.

Gomez has produced when healthy. His speed could fall off over the next few years but he’s one of the rare players that can hit for power and average, run the bases well, and play a gold-glove caliber defense.

If any team can land Gomez, they will be drastically better. It will also likely take a lot to snag Gomez away from Milwaukee.
