X-Rays Negative On Yunel Escobar (Wrist) MRI Thursday

The X-rays on Yunel Escobar's left hand and wrist came back negative after he left Wednesday’s game early against the New York Mets, according to The Washington Post.

The Washington Nationals infielder will still undergo an MRI because there’s possible ligament damage to his wrist after an awkward swing in the second inning against Noah Syndergaard. The injury caused him to leave the game.

Escobar, 32, has been having a terrific season with the Nationals this season. He has a .322/.421/.788 batting line with 104 hits, 5 HR and 30 RBI in 2015. Luckily for the Nats, they were able to score three runs in the bottom of the eighth and win the game 4-3, which also extended their lead in the NL East over the Mets to three games.

This is the best season of Escobar’s nine-year career, which is his first with the Nationals. Washington has been struggling at the plate lately, and could be without Escobar for a few games or even awhile after the MRI results.
