Uribe Delivers Walk-Off Hit Against Former Team

Juan Uribe delivered a walk-off hit against his former team to help the New York Mets defeat the Los Angeles Dodgers.

After Jeurys Familia blew a save opportunity in the ninth inning, the Mets were able to find a way to win anyway in the bottom of the 10th when Uribe came up with one out. The former Dodgers third basemen delivered a blast that nearly went over the left center field wall. Either way, it drove in Curtis Grandson for the Mets 3-2 victory.

Uribe, 36, hasn’t started any of the two games he’s been with the Mets thus far. He pinched hit late in the game and struck out. His second at-bat was his first hit with the Mets and the walk-off shut to allow the Mets to salvage the series with a split.

New York will begin a three-game series on Tuesday against the San Diego Padres before the Washington Nationals come in for a three-game set over the weekend, which could be a battle for first place in the NL East.
