Ben Revere Next To Leave Phillies?

Ben Revere could be the next to go for the Philadelphia Phillies, according to Fox Sports.

Revere, 27, is in the prime of his career and has a contract that isn’t a high price for the next two years. The outfielder is up for arbitration through 2017. It might not cost too much to land Revere from a Phillies team that is looking to rebuild.

In his third season in Philly, Revere has a .298/.335/.376 batting line with 24 stolen bases in 95 games. He’s fourth in the National League and fifth overall in stolen bases. The speedster would be an upgrade for most teams at the top of the lineup.

The Phillies already made a big splash when they traded pitching ace Cole Hamels to the Texas Rangers in exchange for six players. Top catching prospect Jorge Alfaro, outfielder Nick Williams and minor league right-handers Alec Asher, Jake Thompson and Jerad Eickhoff all went to the Phillies while they lost their star pitcher who had four more years of over $67 million left on his contract.
