Jason Kipnis will likely be activated from the DL on Tuesday or Wednesday, according to MLB.com.
The Cleveland Indians All-Star second baseman has missed two weeks with a sore right shoulder. He’s been throwing for the past few days with no issues, which means it’s a matter of days before he’s back with the Tribe.
Francona: Kipnis (R. shoulder) will be activated Wed at latest.

“As much as I want to fight it, and get out there early, I can’t fight it right now, because what they’re doing right now is working, so I have to stick to the course,” Kipnis told Ohio.com. “But I’m very happy with today. … I haven’t talked to them, so I don’t know what the plan is, but it can’t be much longer than that [first game in Boston].”
The Indians are six games out of the second Wild Card spot in the AL but have to surpass a lot of teams. Either way, a healthy Michael Brantley and Kipnis makes Cleveland a much better team.
In 101 games this year, Kipnis has a .326 BA, .878 OPS, 6 HR, 39 RBI and 11 SB this year. His power numbers and speed game has dipped though his average and OPS are by far better than any of his other four big-league seasons.
