The Los Angeles Dodgers are in the middle of talks with the Boston Red Sox to possibly land Alejandro De Aza, according to Fox Sports.
It would be a huge pickup for the Dodgers as they hold a 2 1/2 game lead over the San Francisco Giants for first place in the NL East. De Aza, 31, is having one of his best MLB seasons in an eight-year career and the outfielder would add depth to the Dodgers offense.

In 83 games this year total with the Baltimore Orioles and the Red Sox, De Aza has a .313/.362/.520 batting line. The Dodgers will have until Aug. 31 to acquire De Aza in a waiver trade if they want him on the potential playoff roster.
The Dodgers have won five of their last six games but will be in a tight race for the division crown because the team that finishes second will likely not make the postseason.
