The San Francisco Giants are “still talking” with the Boston Red Sox for a possible trade for Alejandro De Aza.
De Aza, 31, has been one of the best players in Boston this season. The Red Sox outfielder cleared revocable waivers and has until 11:59 p.m. ET to be traded for a player to be eligible on the new team’s postseason roster.

In 60 games this year after playing in 30 with the Baltimore Orioles, De Aza has a .292 BA with 4 HR and 25 RBI. The veteran could play anywhere in the outfielder for the Giants as they hope to get back to the postseason and defend their World Series title.
Hunter Pence has missed practically the whole season, and the Giants are unsure when he’ll return. Angel Pagan has always had his share of health issues that has kept him off the field, which would make De Aza a valuable pickup.
The Giants trail the Los Angeles Dodgers by 3 1/2 games going into Monday.
