Dickerson (Ribs) Takes Batting Practice: Could Return Soon

Corey Dickerson will be taking batting practice on Monday, according to The Denver Post.

The Colorado Rockies leftfielder has been out since late July was a non-displaced fracture in two of his ribs. It’s been a slow return for the third-year star but he’s on his way back to the main roster soon.

Dickerson, 26, has been one of the best players for the last-place Rockies this season. In only 43 games in an injury-plagued season, the outfielder owns a .315 BA with 5 HR and 18 RBI. When healthy, he’s proved that he could be one of the future stars of the NL.

"I feel like I'm a mentally strong person, and I've got a really good family behind me," Dickerson told Fox Sports. "I love coming to the ballpark, and I know when I'm healthy, I'm going to succeed. Every time I got hurt this year or something was hurting, my motivation was to come back even better."
