QB Tom Brady's Suspension Lifted: Value, Expectations, and ADP

By now we have all heard about the NFL’s four-game suspension on Patriots QB Tom Brady being lifted, but what exactly does that mean for his fantasy football ADP.

According to the reputable fantasypros.com, Brady has a projected ADP of 76.0, which is behind the likes of Matt Ryan and Tony Romo. Additionally, Brady is ranked as the ninth-best quarterback in fantasy football for 2015 per ESPN.

While the removal of the four-game suspension clearly makes Brady more appealing as a fantasy quarterback, let’s not forget that he still a mostly unchanged receiving corps from the 2014 campaign. Rob Gronkowski is the clear number one weapon that likely could have made Christian Ponder or Blaine Gabbert good, and Julian Edelman and Brandon Lafell are two very good options. Future Hall of Famer and longtime Indianapolis Colt Reggie Wayne figures to be mainly irrelevant to Brady’s fantasy success in 2015, as he will be the fourth option in the passing offense.

Barring any major setbacks or regression by Brady, which are obviously unforeseeable and very difficult to predict, Brady, the eighth-highest scoring quarterback in fantasy football in 2014, should have an ADP in the mid-60’s, making him ahead of Ryan and Romo, but still behind Ben Roethlisberger, Drew Brees and Russell Wilson for perspective.

As it was mentioned before, Brady has pretty much the same crew from last season meaning it is no stretch that he should produce around 30 TD, 10 INT and 4,000 yards, as he has pretty much averaged the past three seasons.

Brady is an QB1, as he should have been even with the four-game suspension, however now fantasy owners won’t have to search for a backup option to start the fantasy football season.
