FanDuel DFS – MLB Lineup Picks, Sleepers & Advice for 9/18/15

Sorry I missed you on Thursday, but here we are on Friday, September 18th, and we only have two more regular season Fridays after this. Wow this season flew by. Anyways, it looks like we’re going to be paying up for pitching tonight. Some studs have good matchups, and there are four pitchers priced at $11,000 or higher. Hopefully we can find some cheap hitting to pair them with.

Editor's Note: If you play on FanDuel, you should also check out RotoBaller’s DFS Partner DraftKings - they're hosting a one-day Fantasy Baseball league tonight. It's FREE to enter and pays out $125,000 in cash prizes!

Offenses to Target for FanDuel DFS (Pitchers to Pick On)

Ian Kennedy and Chad Bettis are pitching in Coors Field. Open the flood gates on this one. There are plenty of home run hitters on both of these lineups, and it could get ugly.

The other game I’ll be targeting is the Reds and Brewers game in Milwaukee. Miller Park is conducive to home runs to say the least, and Zach Davies and Brandon Finnegan are pitching. Who are they, you ask? Exactly. Go ahead and target this game.

Outside of these two games, we’ll focus less on the pitchers being faced and more on pricing, as we will need to balance out the big spending at the pitching spot.

DFS Starting Pitchers to Target for FanDuel

Max Scherzer (SP, WAS) - $11,000

Scherzer hasn’t been nearly as dominant as we hoped he would be down the stretch, but he’s still one of the best, and he gets the Marlins on Friday. The Marlins are still bad, and Jose Fernandez in his first start back after a long layoff doesn’t necessarily scare me off (hint: I won’t be using him). But saving some money and still getting a top-notch pitcher with a great matchup is a no-brainer.

Chris Sale (SP, CWS) – $12,500

If you’re not going to go with Scherzer, Sale seems like the next best option. Sure, he’s more expensive, and I’m not a huge fan of that, but he has great strikeout potential. The Indians are very inconsistent against lefties, and could very well fall flat on their faces in this one. A lot of FanDuelers will stay away due to his recent poor outing, but the opportunity is there for this lefty.

I wouldn’t recommend going outside of the top four on Friday, but if you want to get risky, Mike Fiers against the A's is the only sensible pick from the lower tier.

DFS Infielders to Target for FanDuel

A.J. Ellis (C, LOS) - $2,700

Ellis is starting to show us his power that, to be honest, I didn’t know was there. Yasmani Grandal has completely disappeared, so this is Ellis’ job to lose. He gets a lefty in Jeff Locke on Friday and will look to keep his recent power streak alive.

Mike Napoli (1B, TEX) - $2,400

His recent hot streak should get Napoli into the lineup against a lefty in James Paxton, and if that’s the case, he’s a great buy at this price. The chance for a homer is always there with “Nap,” and that’s what we’re looking for on a night like this.

Brian Dozier (2B, MIN) - $2,800

I’ll make the same argument that I made last week. We know the kind of hitter this guy is, and when you’re trying to save money this is the perfect risk to take.

Todd Frazier (3B, CIN) - $2,800

His price is still low. My argument is the same as Dozier’s. You’re saving money on a guy who’s capable of a massive game, especially against the pitching that I mentioned above.

Eugenio Suarez (SS, CIN) - $3,000

While you’re at it, give me Suarez too. He has been crazy consistent this year, and nine times out of ten he’s part of the Red’s offensive production. This is a nice, cheap pairing for Friday.

DFS Outfielders to Target for FanDuel

Wil Myers (OF, SD) - $4,400

Here’s my pick for a Coors dong tonight. Most people will go Upton or Kemp, but Myers could get you a homer with lower ownership than one of those two.

Khris Davis (OF, MIL) - $3,500

As good as Davis has been against righties this year, he’s done well with lefties that have come his way too. He loves hitting at home, and Finnegan should let up a few dingers in this one.

Kevin Kiermaier (OF, TB) - $2,300

Just filling the last spot with a high-upside, cheap outfielder with some steal potential. Take your pick here.

Good luck with your FanDuel and DFS lineups RotoBallers!
