Puig (Hamstring) Ran Bases Wednesday: Return Still Questionable

Yasiel Puig ran the bases before Wednesday's game against the Arizona Diamondbacks as the Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder tries to recover from a nagging hamstring issue.

The return of the former All-Star is still a mystery since the hamstring has been bothering Puig all season long. The 24-year-old has only played in 77 games this year. Puig hasn’t played since Aug. 27. He’s having a tough time watching his teammates as the Dodgers prepare for the postseason.

"It's because of them I'll be in the playoffs for the third consecutive time," Puig told The Los Angeles Times. "I haven't been able to play much and they've taken us there."

Puig said that it all depends on how his legs feel and what the doctors have to say  whether or not he's going to be able to contribute during the postseason.

"I'll be there to do what is needed, whether it's pinch-hitting or play as a defensive replacement in the ninth inning," he said. "Whatever they need me to do, I'll do."

It’s been a tough season for Puig, but he still hit 11 HR with 38 RBI in limited action.
