Trea Turner hit his first major league home run during Tuesday's loss to the Atlanta Braves.
The rookie’s homer was the only bright spot offensively for the Washington Nationals in a 2-1 loss. Turner only has 23 games under his belt and has a .238 BA with 2 SB so far. The infielder can be a fantasy free agent signing that could help fantasy users during the final week since he'll be playing every day.
Turner homered off Braves starter Matt Wisler in the sixth inning, a solo shot. He finished 2-for-3 with a walk on the night. He will likely play every day this week against team’s not usual starting pitchers, which means Turner could be a signing that puts a fantasy team over the top.
Ian Desmond is a free agent after the season, which means Turner will be the starting shortstop in 2016 should Desmond skip town (as expected). He’s worth keeping an eye on over these last few games.
The Nationals close out the season with two more games against the Braves and three against the New York Mets.
