While Matthew Stafford—complete with backwards cap and all—might be just arrogant enough to claim he’s the proverbial “cat’s pajamas,” this week, the title belongs to none other than Brandon Pettigrew.
Why? Well, though little’s been accomplished in the numbers column, after a heartbreaking Monday night loss to the Seattle Seahawks on a blown-call, Detroit’s looking for anything on which to hang their helmet hats.
Following such a disheartening game, it’s the fact that tight end Brandon Pettigrew will participate in practice this week with the goal of playing on Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts. Simply put, the Lions need all the help they can get. Moreover, fantasy owners need Matthew Stafford to have as many targets available as possible.
Truthfully, since sustaining a nagging hamstring injury during the season opener, Pettigrew has accomplished very little for his team. Seeing as how fellow tight end Eric Ebron sustained a painful knee injury Monday and is doubtful for Week Five, it’s assumed that this week’s practice sessions will largely determine who will get the nod on Sunday for the struggling Lions. Don't be surprised to see Tim Wright lead the trio in targets this week, making any of them a risky play in fantasy.
