It’s been an interesting year for the New York Giants. With good reason, Eli Manning’s facial expressions have been as diverse as his team’s up-and-down successes. Starting off the season with two consecutive fourth-quarter collapses, many had written the Giants off as early bust.
However, after two impressive victories over the likes of the Washington Redskins and Buffalo Bills, the team has turned a corner and is seeing tremendous success. Truthfully, a large part of that success has been none other than Giants’ tight end Larry Donnell.
Just last week against the Bills, Donnell snagged five passes off of seven targets for a total of 38 yards. Even as a tight end, Donnell has easily solidified himself as a leader of the Giants’ receiving core.
On his own team, he ranks second in both targets and receptions. Additionally, his 15 catches give him the 11th most among NFL tight ends. Ben McAdoo’s West Coast Offense is built to sustain this kind of tight end involvement, but there are potential problems for Donnell on the horizon.
Simply put, fantasy owners would be wise to see how pass distribution changes amongst Giants’ receivers once Victor Cruz returns to the starting lineup.
