Though the San Francisco 49ers have certainly had a rough go at things this season, all is not lost. Take for example the play of veteran wide receiver Anquan Boldin.
In a Week 5 losing effort that saw his San Francisco side come up short against Eli Manning and the New York Giants, Boldin was targeted by quarterback Colin Kaepernick 12 times, catching eight of them successfully.
By the end of Sunday night's game, Boldin had amassed a total of 107 receiving yards. While the 49ers certainly would have preferred a victory over Boldin's loaded stat sheet, fantasy owners couldn't be happier with what they saw.
However, if considering making Bolding a WR1 or WR2 option next week in your fantasy league, think again. Remember, Weeks 3 and 4 only saw Boldin bring in 5 catches. Furthermore, even in last night's loss, Boldin was targeted on little more than short, checkdown throws.
He's still ahead of Torrey Smith as San Francisco's No. 1 pass-game player, but if still in need of a WR1 option on your fantasy squad, look elsewhere.
