Thus far, this season has been a tough one for Indianapolis Colts’ wide receiver T.Y. Hilton. Having dealt with injury concerns for much of the season, he’s been unable to make the very plays that have solidified him as a top-tier receiver in the NFL in recent years.
However, with the majority of nagging injuries now behind him, things appear to be on the up and up. In fact, last night against the New England Patriots, Hilton was able to record his first touchdown of the season and led all Colts’ receivers in total yards, in spite of his team’s losing efforts.
Successfully bringing in 6-of-9 targets for a total of 74 receiving yards and a score, both Colts’ fans and eager fantasy owners hope that Hilton has finally turned a corner. Seeing as how Hilton was limited to underneath routes due to the Patriots’ constant implementation of an over-the-top safety, his performance, considering the circumstances, wasn’t too shabby.
Though he’ll be little more than a WR2 option during next week’s Week 7 matchup against the struggling New Orleans Saints, look for Hilton’s upward trend to continue.
