As a member of the Houston Texans, believe it or not, Andre Johnson was widely considered one of the better receivers in the NFL. If you’ve just started following him this year, more than likely, you’re wondering how this ever could’ve been.
Once again, taking a backseat in the Indianapolis Colts’ Week 6 loss to the New England Patriots, Andre Johnson was nearly absent out on the field. When all was said and done, Johnson managed to bring in 3-of-6 targets for a measly 35 total receiving yards and no touchdowns.
Playing behind both T.Y. Hilton and Donte Moncrief, it appears unlikely that Johnson will ever be more than the Colts’ No. 3 option this season.
In fact, outside of his two-touchdown performance against his old team last week, Johnson has been held to under 40 total receiving yards in every game this season. Needless to say, Johnson is little more than a WR3 option come Week 7 and a low-end one, at that.
