BALLER MOVE: Add in All Leagues
OWNED: 42.8% of ESPN Fantasy Basketball Leagues
ANALYSIS: Get to know the name Alec Burks. The 5th year combo guard from Colorado has flown under fantasy radars for a few years now, but the 2015-16 season looks to be a breakout year for Burks. Held to only 27 games last year due to injury, Burks was apparently forgotten about by a lot of owners this year.
The Dante Exum Injury might have been bad news for the Utah Jazz, but it is excellent news for current and future Alec Burks’ owners. Burks has extremely polished ball-handling skills for a player of his size (6’6”, 215lbs) and the Jazz will certainly utilize him as a backup point guard to limit the usage of the often struggling Trey Burke.
Burks will mostly help your team with 3’s and points, however, what I like most about Burks is his ability to regularly chip in a few assists and rebounds. Last year in 27 games he averaged 4.2 REB and 3.0 AST, meaning that over a weekly matchup it isn’t unrealistic for him to add over ten of each, enough to swing both categories in your favor.
Plain and simple, if Burks is available, add him to your team and thank me later in the comments section.
