BALLER MOVE: Add in All Leagues
OWNED: 4.1% of ESPN Fantasy Basketball Leagues
ANALYSIS: I know what you’re thinking, this must have been a typo right? Nope, in fact, I can’t come up with a reason why he shouldn’t be rostered in all leagues.
It hasn’t been made official yet, but I have a very good feeling Humphries will be the starting PF for the Washington Wizards on opening night, with NeNe coming off the bench. If that is the case, I fully expect Humphries to flirt with a double double pretty much every night.
Using a completely arbitrary threshold of 8 REB and 10 PTS, which Humphries should hit this year if he starts, he would be among only a handful of players in the NBA to reach that mark. Guys on this list include Tim Duncan, Nikola Vucevic, Pau Gasol, Derrick Favors, Greg Monroe, Andre Drummond… all guys not only drafted, but drafted early.
In addition, word out of Wizard’s camp is that Humphries worked on his long range shot all summer, which has been very apparent in the preseason averaging almost two 3PM a game.
A lot of Humphries value hinges on whether or not he starts, and how many minutes Nene and Drew Gooden see on a nightly basis, but I think they’ll be used relatively conservatively during the regular season to ensure everyone is well rested for the playoffs.
This may seem like a shot in the dark, but Kris Humphries will be winning someone else rebounds and 3PM every week if you don’t go pick him up now.
