Syndergaard Strikes Out 6 For Mets WS Victory

Noah Syndergaard got the job done on the mound for the New York Mets during Game 3 of the World Series against the Kansas City Royals.

The rookie right-hander fanned six over six innings pitch for the big Mets victory on Friday. Syndergaard was in and out of trouble early although eventually he went on a roll while the Mets were able to increase their lead.

It was the first ever World Series game at Citi Field and the Mets were already down 2-0 in the series. If New York wanted any shot to still win the Fall Classic, it needed to win on Friday. After being down 3-2 as the game went into the third inning, Syndergaard turned it up and didn’t allow a run the rest of the way. His night came to an end when he forced a groundout from Alex Rios while the bases were loaded. The bullpen picked it up and shut down the Royals for the 9-3 victory.

The power-pithcer now owns a 3.32 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 26/8 K/BB ratio in 19 innings this postseason. If the series reaches a Game 7, Syndergaard would be set to take the ball again.
