BALLER MOVE: Pick up in PPR Leagues
OWNED IN: 64% of Fleaflicker Leagues
ANALYSIS: Standing with his concerned teammates, C.J. Spiller watched his counterpart, Khiry Robinson, get carted off the field after a goal line run against the New York Giants; a running assignment that could now be handed off to Spiller instead. Robinson is out for the season with a broken right tibia, leaving Spiller with an opportunity to shine in an increased role.
Starting running back, Mark Ingram, is certainly the go-to guy in New Orleans. But with the injury to Robinson, Spiller can see a boost in carries next week against the Tennessee Titans. Despite his lack of production out of the backfield this season, rushing for only 78 yards on 20 carries, Spiller is a valuable asset in 10-12 team PPR leagues. Since Week 3, Spiller has been targeted four or more times in every game. Mix that with his ability to catch and run with the chance to inherit Robinson's carries and a pretty nice formula for success emerges.
Robinson had been targeted 20 times this season, targets that can now be given to Spiller instead. On a high-scoring offense, Spiller also has a chance to produce where Robinson did; the goal line. If you own Ingram or already have solid running backs, there could still be worse options to have on your bench. If this week in the NFL is indicative of anything, it's that injuries happen often.
