Week 10 Wide Receiver (WR) Rankings Analysis

By Zach Wilkens (@LopsidedTrades)

Near the top of my rankings, I have Demaryius Thomas at WR2 this week. He’s been a quiet this season - he sits at WR27 in standard despite being on pace for nearly 1500 yards. The problem is the lack of touchdowns (just 1) which seems to be more on Peyton than DT.

Well Emmanuel Sanders is questionable and the Chiefs give up the most fantasy points to receivers. It seems like the perfect storm for DT to have a big game. If anyone was thinking about benching him, don’t!

I think Allen Robinson is also due for a really big day and I have him at WR8. He could easily outperform that ranking too. The Ravens are really struggling in the secondary and give up the second most points to opposing WRs as a result.

Although ARob was held out of the end zone for the first time in four weeks last week, he still put up over 100 yards while mostly in Revis Island. With the Ravens lack of a talent to match up against him, the sky is the limit for Allen Robinson this week!

I like James Jones a lot more than Davante Adams this week. One good game (admittedly very good) for Adams does not make him a better play than James Jones. Not to mention that Jones was mostly shadowed by elite CB Josh Norman last week which was a big reason as to why Adams was targeted so much in the first place.

Against the Lions this week you won’t see any Lions defender shutting down a Green Bay receiver. With that being the case expect the target pecking order to return to it’s previous state of Cobb-Jones-Adams. Jones should go back to having a high chance to score and is a low-end WR2/high-end flex. Davante Adams is nothing more than low-end flex.

I think if Desean Jackson is going to be fantasy relevant this week, this is the week it needs to happen. It’s a perfect matchup where the Redskins are expected to throw a ton while the Saints have shown a major inability to stop anything in recent weeks. I have to imagine DJax will see a few big targets with a good chance of nabbing a couple of them. If he remains quiet, don’t expect to see me write about him again this year.

When I did my weekly RotoBaller chat on Wednesday, I had several questions about Kamar Aiken. Without Steve Smith, Aiken is the de facto number 1 in Baltimore. However, my issue is that I just don’t think Aiken is very good.

On paper, someone has to catch the ball for this team but don’t be surprised if it’s not Aiken. He has put up a few decent games this season but Steve Smith was facing the top corners at that point. When Aiken has to face the top guys I think he’ll struggle. Even this week against the Jaguars I’m not looking to start him
