BALLER MOVE: Add in Very Deep Leagues, Monitor in Others
OWNED IN: 6% of Yahoo! Fantasy Basketball Leagues
ANALYSIS: Tyler Johnson has seen an increased role since the departure of Mario Chalmers, and he has impressed as a scorer. He can score from all over the floor at a high percentage, and has shown the ability to put up points in bunches. Johnson's breakout game came on November 12 against the Jazz, when he shot 8-12 for 17 points. He also added four rebounds, three assists, two blocks and a steal. Through nine games, he is averaging 10 points, three rebounds and two assists to go along with a 55% field goal percentage and a 53% three point percentage.
While those shooting numbers will be difficult to maintain, the former Fresno State point guard has proven he can be a reliable scoring option off the bench at either guard position. Johnson isn't the most enticing add in fantasy leagues right now since he's still on the bench. But if he continues to see more minutes -- which could happen if oft-injured star Dwyane Wade were to miss time -- his overall numbers could end up being a very productive player. The young combo guard is definitely worth monitoring in all leagues.
