FanDuel DFS Guards
Damian Lillard (vs LAL, $9,400)
Damian Lillard is the best cash game option on the board tonight against the Los Angeles Lakers. He is extremely consistent, as he has over 40 fantasy points in seven of his last 10 games. Two games ago, Lillard played the Lakers for the first time this season, and he scored 30 points, grabbed 6 rebounds, dished out 13 assists, and posted 60.7 fantasy points on FanDuel. He even scored over 40 fantasy points against the Chicago Bulls, and Jimmy Butler is one of the best defenders in the league. He should easily hit 40 fantasy points tonight, and he obviously has the ability to post over 60 fantasy points, as he already did it against the Lakers two games ago. Use him in any format, but do not avoid him in 50/50 contests at all.
Ishmael Smith (at UTA, $6,600)
Ishmael, or "Ish," Smith was in free agency to start the season, and now, he is starting next to Jrue Holiday for the New Orleans Pelicans. The first game of the season, Nate Robinson looked like he did not want to be on the court, or the coach told him not to get involved offensively. After that, the Ish Smith era started. He was signed to the team, and due to all the injuries surrounding the New Orleans Pelicans team, he started to get 30 plus minutes per game. He now has over 40 fantasy points in two straight games and 39.3 fantasy points the game prior to that. There is really no reason to avoid him right now, as far as I'm aware. Fire him up in any format, as he should continue to play big minutes and handle the ball on a frequent basis.
FanDuel DFS Forwards
Paul Millsap (at SA, $8,800)
Paul Millsap is basically Damian Lillard, if Damian Lillard were a forward. He is about as consistent as they come, and he should be able to continue his 40 plus streak tonight against the San Antonio Spurs. The Spurs really slow the pace of the game, but that will not really bother Millsap, as he and Horford will push the pace right back up. He has four straight games with over 40 fantasy points, and in one of those games, he has over 50 fantasy points. Despite the assumption that the Spurs are a great defensive team, they struggle against the power forward position. Millsap should be able to get the better of LaMarcus Aldridge and score at will. He can be used in tournaments, but he is better served in 50/50 contests, as he so frequently scores 40, but rarely scores 50 plus.
Thaddeus Young (at CLE, $6,500)
If we are going to compare Paul Millsap to Damian Lillard, it is only fair to compare Ish Smith to Thaddeus Young. Granted, Young did start the season as a starter on the Brooklyn Nets, but they are playing similarly right now. Young has over 30 fantasy points in seven of his last nine games, and he should continue to score 30-40 fantasy points every time he takes the court. His last bad game was against the Boston Celtics, as he only put up 27.9 fantasy points, but he bounced back against the Oklahoma City Thunder, scoring 18 points and grabbing 8 rebounds for 35.1 fantasy points. He can be used in both 50/50 contests and tournaments due to his high floor and low price. He gets overlooked a lot, and hopefully you'll be one step ahead of the competition thanks to this article.
FanDuel DFS Centers
DeMarcus Cousins (at GS, $10,600)
Last night, DeMarcus Cousins looked like he was going to play for the first time in a couple of games, but he sat out yet again. He should play tonight against the Golden State Warriors, and I would not be surprised if the Sacramento Kings did that on purpose in an effort to finally put an "L" in the Warriors record column. Cousins is simply the best center in the league (Drummond is on DraftKings, as Cousins is listed as a power forward), and he should be used every time he plays. He shoots the ball 20 plus times per game, which is rare for a center, and it is not surprising when he scored 40 plus regular points. He also grabs at least 10 rebounds per game, so a double-double is all but guaranteed. Do not hesitate to use him in any format tonight.
