BALLER MOVE: Add for Underrated Value
OWNED: 39% of Yahoo! Leagues
ANALYSIS: Alex Len, the seemingly-forgotten 5th pick of the 2013 NBA Draft, has suddenly burst onto the scene with a string of jaw-dropping performances. 20 points, 14 rebounds against Orlando. 15 points, 6 rebounds against Chicago. 13 points, 14 rebounds against Brooklyn. No, your eyes are not deceiving you. He has truly started to produce, and this newfound production may not be just a flash in the pan. Len could turn into a solid fantasy producer for the remainder of this season and beyond.
Len is the hottest fantasy commodity there is, and with only 39% ownership in Yahoo! Fantasy leagues, chances are he is available in your league. Yes, his surge in production has come mostly in the absence of Tyson Chandler, but now that Len has shown he can hold his own consistently on the NBA level, he should be in line for more meaningful minutes as the season wears on.
While he is averaging a seemingly-meager 7.0 PPG and 5.8 RPG on the season, in Chandler’s absence, Len is sniffing a double double with averages of 11.4 PPG and 9.0 RPG to go along with 1.7 BPG. While such production may not be completely sustainable, Len has shown he deserves increased minutes, and it will be interesting to see how coach Jeff Hornacek decides to utilize Len in the near future.
Len is worth a pick-up--especially in deeper leagues--as he may prove to be the fantasy steal of the 2015-16 NBA season.
