FanDuel DFS Guards
Russell Westbrook (at DAL, $10,700)
Russell Westbrook is simply the best point guard in the league for fantasy purposes. Stephen Curry is definitely making a run right now, but he is not nearly as consistent as Westbrook is, and he is usually overpriced. Westbrook is always priced right around where he should be. In his last two games, he has over 50 fantasy points in both of them. He is basically guaranteed to double-double when he steps on the court, which he has done in four straight games now. The Dallas Mavericks are horrendous against the point guard position, but they are good enough to at least keep this game close. Westbrook should have a field day, and if he plays 30 plus minutes, he is always liable to post over 60 fantasy points. Against the Hornets, he posted 53.1 fantasy points, but only played 27 minutes. His consistency is amazing, and his upside is great. There is no reason to avoid him tonight.
Donald Sloan (vs UTA, $4,500)
The Brooklyn Nets did their best in attempting to get Shane Larkin to be good at basketball. Unfortunately, he is simply not good at basketball. Thus, Donald Sloan has taken over the starting point guard position for the Nets. He gets a difficult matchup tonight against the Utah Jazz, who are a defensive-minded team that loves to slow the pace of the game. However, Sloan has over 25 fantasy points in three of his last four games. In one of those games, he posted over 35 fantasy points. He has pretty good upside, and considering his price, he has a rather high floor as well. He can be used in both 50/50 contests and tournaments tonight, and he will definitely help save some money so Russell Westbrook easily fits into the lineup.
FanDuel DFS Forwards
Dirk Nowitzki (vs OKC, $7,100)
Dirk Nowitzki did not play in the Dallas Mavericks last game against the Minnesota Timberwolves because he is old. He gets a day off every now and again, but it was just rest. He will play tonight against the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Thunder are going to push the pace of this game, and Dirk is going to have to play well if they want to keep it close. In his last game against the Boston Celtics, Dirk posted 44.2 fantasy points in 35 minutes of action. It is no wonder why he got off the next day. That makes a toll on his old body. In six of the last seven games that Dirk has actually played in, he has over 30 fantasy points. He is one of the most consistent fantasy players in the league, so he makes for a great 50/50 option tonight. He can also be used in tournaments, but do not expect anything ridiculous from him. He is slow and steady, which just so happens to win the race.
Terrence Jones (vs MIL, $4,500)
Terrence Jones is going to play big minutes for the Houston Rockets tonight, as Dwight Howard is injured. Ty Lawson basically took out his own teammate, but that is for another conversation. Jones gets a great matchup against the Milwaukee Bucks, and he should be able to crush value. Jones will be the staple of all of my lineups tonight. His price tag is far too low, as he always dominates without Howard in the lineup. Clint Capela will also see some run for the Rockets, and he also makes for a great play, but Jones has more upside. There is absolutely no reason that either Jones or both Jones and Capela should be in your lineup tonight.
FanDuel DFS Centers
Jonas Valanciunas (vs MIA, $6,300)
Jonas Valanciunas is the best worst center in the entire league. I'm not kidding. He posted over 30 fantasy points three of his last four games, and he is double-doubling on a consistent basis. He only plays right around 30 minutes for the Toronto Raptors per game, but he does work while on the court. His price tag is still rather low, but it'll be coming up any day. He is about as good as most of the non-elite top centers on the board. For example, he plays about as well as the DeAndre Jordans of the world. Obviously, he does not have DeMarcus Cousins type upside, but his price is not that high either. If you are looking for a ton of value at center, use Spencer Hawes, but the best overall option is definitely JV.
