BALLER MOVE: Add in Deep Leagues
OWNED IN: 3% of Yahoo! Leagues
ANALYSIS: Markel Brown has spent the last year and a half largely in a reserve role for the Brooklyn Nets. Even though he has started 33 of the 86 games in which he has played, he has averaged just 14.6 minutes per contest. However, with Joe Johnson no longer on the roster, Brown could be in line for a large increase in minutes. In the Nets' first game without Johnson, Brown played 26 minutes and scored 16 points, hitting four of his seven field goal attempts. He also grabbed three rebounds, dished out an assist and added a steal. He will be sharing playing time at both wing spots with Wayne Ellington, Bojan Bogdanovic and Sergey Karasev, and Brown likely has the highest upside of the bunch. He was once a prolific scorer at Oklahoma State, having posted 17.2 points per game on 47.3% shooting as a senior. As long as he is healthy, Brown is worth consideration in deep leagues for the remainder of the season.
