Welcome to the Daily Fantasy Hockey (NHL DFS) lineup picks article for March 1st of the 2015/2016 NHL season. Each day we'll be providing you with a handful of forward, defensemen, and goaltender picks for DraftKings and FanDuel GPP and cash games.
We have nine games on the NHL schedule tonight with three teams (CGY, PIT, DAL) playing on back to back nights on the road. With the trade deadline behind them almost all of the teams will be gearing up for a playoff run with around 20 games left in the regular season.
Try to find your offense in teams playing for something down the stretch and target those teams who are all but mathematically eliminated.
As always be sure to check LeftWingLock prior to lineup lock to confirm all the starting goalies.

NHL DFS Picks for Tuesday, March 1st
A couple strategy notes. For cash game construction look for players who can contribute to your score when they are not providing offense. Examples are guys who take a ton of shots, defensemen who block a lot of shots(DraftKings). Also, look for guys who get powerplay time and especially Top 6 forwards. You can find value in players who join a new line due to an injury or just get a promotion and more ice time.
For large field tournaments (GPP's) you want to find payers who have multi point upside and can grab double digit fantasy points. To stack the most upside in your forwards a common strategy is to punt the defense position. This doesn't mean just grab anyone. Try and look for a D man who will be playing more PP time or might get a boost in overall playing time due to an injury.
Let's take a look at some solid plays for today's action.
Tuukka Rask - Goaltender, Bruins (Draftkings - $8,300 FanDuel - $9,100)
The Bruins are in a great spot on Tuesday as big home favorites to the Flames playing on back to back nights on the road. Rask is coming off a poor outing vs. the Lightning but was rolling along nicely before that going 7-3-1 to start February. Look for the Bruins to turn their home woes around tonight.
Patrice Bergeron - Center, Bruins (DraftKings - $7,100 FanDuel - $7,500)
The Bruins #1 center provides a great floor for cash games with shot volume. He has averaged close to 3.5 shots on goal per game this season and has added 53 points in 63 games. He gets a great matchup tonight vs. the Flames who rank dead last in goals allowed per game.
Alex Ovechkin - Winger, Capitals (DraftKings - $9,100 FanDuel - $11,100)
The price is still reasonable on DraftKings costing you 18% of your salary cap but is getting a little steep on FanDuel at 21% of your cap. He provides more upside than any other player and has scored 10 goals and added four assists in his last 10 games. Although he has been held pointless in two games vs. the Pens this season he has thrived overall with 46 points in 41 career games.
Filip Forsberg - Winger, Predators (DraftKings - $6,300 FanDuel - $8,500)
No hotter player in the league right now. He has picked up a hat trick in two of his last three games and has totaled 13 points in his last 10 games. With the crazy high ceiling also comes a nice floor as he has averaged right around four shots on goal per game over the past few weeks. He is a GPP play on FanDuel but a great play in all formats on DraftKings with a much more affordable price tag.
Brooks Orpik - Defense, Capitals (DraftKings - $4,400 FanDuel - $4,000)
His price will soon be over $5K but until it does he is a must play on both sites. Since returning from injury he has seen his ice time increase to the 20 min mark and has averaged right around 3.5 fantasy points per game on both sites.
