BALLER MOVE: Spot-starter in 12+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 3% of Fleaflicker leagues
ANALYSIS: Martin Perez has pitched well in his first two starts of 2016, but has yet to pick up a win. The Texas Rangers failed to score more than three runs in each of his starts, while the bullpen was unable to hold his impressive debut against the Seattle Mariners. The Rangers have underachieved offensively early, but their offense has too much potential to worry about their production. Perez has already walked nine batters, but he did force 16 ground balls in his most recent start; encouraging for someone who struggles with command. Despite the hefty amount of baserunners, Perez has allowed five runs in 12.1 innings pitched and has some upside for owners in need of a spot-starter in deeper leagues. Although, it might be wise to wait until after he faces the Baltimore Orioles this week.
