BALLER MOVE: Second/Third Catcher in Two-Catcher Leagues
OWNED IN: 2% of Fleaflicker leagues
ANALYSIS: It took 11 at-bats in 2016, but Jason Castro finally picked up his first hit of the season. Five at-bats later, he drove in his first run of the early campaign. Castro is off to a slow start with his .100 average, but did start last season batting only .203 in April. Castro will never hit for average but can definitely provide some pop out of the catcher position for deep 12-14+ team leagues rostering two catchers. He strikes out a ton but did hit at least two home runs in all but one month last season. There isn't a whole lot of upside to Castro, while a lot of his appeal revolves around the team he's playing for. Despite batting ninth, the Houston Astros have one of the best and deepest lineups in the league, giving Castro plenty of RBI opportunities throughout the year.
