BALLER MOVE: Leave on Waiver Wire
OWNED IN: 47% of Fleaflicker leagues
ANALYSIS: With a mix of speed, arm-strength, range, and above-average power, a ton of hype swirled around the arrival of Byron Buxton. The ceiling was certainly high with expectations similar to those of Kris Bryant and Carlos Correa upon their introduction to the Show. But the anticipated debut of Buxton has fallen flat, as he and the Minnesota Twins have begun the 2016 campaign in undesirable fashion.
The Twins have lost their first eight games while Buxton has struck out a bloated 13 times in that span. Buxton has scored only once, driven in only one run, and teeters around a batting average lower than .200. With Danny Santana set to return from his minimum DL stint soon, Buxton could very well be the guy the Twins take their frustrations out on, and potentially usher him back to the minors. In regards to fantasy, patience is required with Buxton; a player with less than 200 big league plate appearances under his young belt. It will take more than eight games for Buxton to find a groove. In the meantime, it's safe to leave him on the wire as he hasn't proven his worth yet. For those who have already rostered Buxton, hang tight and stash him away.
