DraftKings Daily Fantasy Baseball Lineup Picks (4/25/16): MLB DFS Advice

I realize this defeats the purpose of rolling out my picks one by one, but I suspect there will be a bajillion runs scored in Colorado on Monday night. Soft tossing lefty Jeff Locke (7.24 ERA) will face right-hander Chad Bettis (84.6% medium-to-hard contact rate) in a game that, as of this writing, Vegas hasn’t even touched yet. Usually that means they are predicting the worst. Happy hunting in Coors.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball MLB lineup picks for DraftKings on 4/25/16. The DFS lineup picks will range from high-priced to low-priced options and identify options who will out-perform their expectations, including sleepers and value plays on DraftKings.

Without further ado, here are the picks.

DFS Lineup Stacks to Target on DraftKings

Pitsburgh Pirates vs. Chad Bettis (RHP)

The Pirates have scored 30 runs over their last four games and even though that does include a 13-inning outing, it’s clear their young bats are seeing the ball well now. The thin air of Coors Field is always a place you want to target bats.

Colorado Rockies vs. Jeff Locke (LHP)

I am not getting very creative here, but both the Rockies and the Pirates are facing sub-par starting pitching in Coors Field. Locke is having a tough time striking batters out this year. His 9.9% K rate is on pace for the lowest of his career and he is yielding a putrid 18.8% BB rate.

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider on DraftKings

Noah Syndergaard, NYM vs CIN - $11,400

Syndergaard hasn’t given any of us a reason this

Jordan Zimmermann, DET vs. OAK - $8,200

ZNN is fresh off his best start of the young season in which he mowed down the vaunted Royals lineup. The Athletics do not pose nearly the threat that the Royals do and he has been solid at inducing soft contact this season.

If you are feeling lucky, give Dodgers’ starter Ross Stripling ($5,600) a start against the Miami Marlins.

DFS Infielders to Consider on DraftKings

Catcher (C)

A.J. Ellis, LAD vs. MIA - $2,900

Everyone’s favorite platoon split in Los Angeles should be in full effect. Ellis owns a career wRC+ of 117 against left handed pitchers and is the top recommended hitter at the catcher position utilizing our nifty Rotoballer hitters tool.

First Base (1B)

Justin Smoak, TOR vs. CHW - $2,700

Strikeout or walk. That’s essentially what Smoak has been doing nearly every at bat this year. Good thing strikeouts don’t hurt his numbers on DraftKings. Something also tells me that he is due against Miguel Gonzalez.

Also consider Paul Goldschmidt ($4,800) because he is a stud.

Second Base (2B)

D.J. LeMahieu, COL vs. PIT - $4,600

Ryan Goins, TOR vs. CHW - $2,000

You could really go one of two ways at second base. Either pay up for a guy that will bat high in a lineup that will score a ton of runs. Or pay down for a guy that has phenomenal upside but an insanely low floor. It all depends on your lineup construction.

Shortstop (SS)

Corey Seager, LAD vs. MIA - $3,400

It’s sort of weird to promote a left-handed hitter who is going up against a lefty. Especially Seager who has looked downright atrocious at times against southpaws, albeit in a small sample size. However, the young phenom has five hits in his last 16 plate appearances over the last three games, and has scored four runs while driving in five. Plus, he is our top player on the board utilizing the Rotoballer hitters tool.

Trevor Story ($5,200) is insanely expensive, but you get what you pay for.

Third Base (3B)

Nolan Arenado, COL vs. PIT - $5,000

No contest at third today. You will want to get maximum exposure to Arenado. Facing a soft tossing lefty in Coors Field? Yeah. No brainer.

DFS Outfielders to Consider on DraftKings

Andrew McCutchen, PIT at COL - $5,100

Cutch has had a tough start to the season. Those that know Captain Cutch, though, know that he usually starts slow and then lifts off. His hot streaks typically start in May, but the Buccos get the Rockies a little bit earlier this season than previous ones. That means that maybe Cutch’s hot streak starts on April 25th. He is due.

Gregory Polanco, PIT at COL - $4,600

El Coffee came out of his slump on Sunday with a vengeance, going 3-for-4 with a walk and dropping 17 DraftKings points. His three hits were all solid contact hits, the kind that go very far in thin air.

Ryan Raburn, COL vs. PIT - $4,000

I don’t know if Raburn will be playing Monday night or not. But I do know that if he is in the starting lineup, he and his career .359 wOBA and 124 wRC+ will most likely be in my lineup as well.

Brock Holt, BOS at ATL - $2,700

If you need a cheap, value option that is relatively safe, look no further than Holt. He has been relatively consistent in getting on base this season. It looks like there may be some rain in Atlanta, so check the weather.
