It is a huge slate today. Sunday is always fun, as baseball starts early in the day!
There is a ton of value on the board. Read on to find out where that value is.
In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball MLB lineup picks for FanDuel on 5/1/16. The DFS lineup picks will range from high-priced to low-priced options and identify options who will out-perform their expectations, including sleepers and value plays on FanDuel.
DFS Lineup Stacks to Target for FanDuel
Arizona Diamondbacks
The Arizona Diamondbacks get a great matchup again today against the Colorado Rockies. The Rockies are set to have Chad Bettis on the mound, and the Diamondbacks should take advantage again. Aside from Paul Goldschmidt, a few of their hitters are too cheap as well.
Pittsburgh Pirates
It looks like Raisel Iglesias may not pitch today for the Cincinnati Reds. He felt a pinch in his shoulder, and the Reds may take heavy precaution with that, as a shoulder injury hurt his production last season. If they do have to call up a Triple-A starter to pitch today, attack the Pirates.
Miami Marlins
The Miami Marlins have an explosive offense, which is surprising considering their production level this season. All of their primary hitters hit for a high average, and Wily Peralta is one of the worst starters on the board. This is an interesting contrarian stack.
DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider for FanDuel
Clayton Kershaw is simply the best pitcher on the board. He gets a great matchup against the San Diego Padres, and he is pitching at home. No more questions, please.
John Lackey has great upside. He gets a great matchup against the Atlanta Braves, and a few games ago, he posted over 60 fantasy points against the St. Louis Cardinals. The game prior, he posted over 40 fantasy points against the Cincinnati Reds. He has a high K-rate so far this season, and there is no reason to avoid him, especially in tournaments.
DFS Infielders to Consider for FanDuel
Catcher (C) - Wellington Castillo
Wellington Castillo is the best catcher option on the board. He has great upside, he is hitting for a high average, and he has six home runs and 12 RBIs already this season. Do not hesitate to roster him, despite his high price tag.
First Base (1B) - Joe Mauer
Joe Mauer is rather cheap tonight, and he has been on fire of recent. He is hitting over .300 so far this season with one home run and seven RBIs. The Minnesota Twins do not tend to string hits together, which hurts the production of a stack, so use Mauer as a stand-alone player only.
Second Base (2B) - Josh Harrison
Josh Harrison has great upside. He hit a home run in his last game, which was against the Cincinnati Reds. With over nine fantasy points in five straight games now, he is worth a look in both 50/50 contests and tournaments even if Iglesias does find his way onto the mound.
Shortstop (SS) - Jimmy Rollins
Jimmy Rollins has great upside for a shortstop. He sat out yesterday, so he should be rested and ready to go. The Chicago White Sox have a high powered offense, and Rollins is part of that.
Third Base (3B) - Brandon Drury
Brandon Drury is too cheap. He is playing great baseball right now, and he should continue to play well tonight against the Colorado Rockies. He is going to see consistent time in the lineup until he stops producing.
DFS Outfielders to Consider for FanDuel
Giancarlo Stanton has great upside tonight. He has been on a tear of recent, posting over 10 fantasy points in five straight games. In fact, he has over 20 fantasy points in three of his last five games. The Marlins are sneaky tonight, but Stanton is not. Use him in both 50/50 contests and tournaments.
Christian Yelich is too cheap. He is hitting right around .300 this season, and he has the speed to steal bases. With such great upside, he is well worth is price tag. In a Miami Marlins' stack, make sure he is part of it.
David Peralta is also too cheap. The Arizona Diamondbacks are a great team to stack, and Peralta is a big part of their offense, so make sure to use him. He is hitting great to start the season, and his price tag should be higher, especially considering his great matchup against Chad Bettis.
