Analysis: With a seemingly endless pool of potential for rotation possibilities, John Lamb may have been slightly lost in the Cincinnati youth depth due to his injury induced absence. Last season in ten GS for the Reds; Lamb struggled with allowing HR in GABP with 1.4 HR/9, leading to his 5.80 ERA. However, Lamb did have a FIP of 4.16 due to a K/9 of 10.5 and had a solid 4.09 ERA and 1.23 WHIP on the road last year. This season in his first start Lamb pitched six innings and allowed just one ER without giving up a HR. Lamb's career statistics may be slightly limited and non-indicative, but he has proven over his career that he is very good at accumulating strikeouts and giving solid performances when away from the incredibly hitter-friendly confines of Cincinnati. Although based on his performance against the Giants on May 3rd, he is definitely improving in home performances.
