Analysis: Kevin Gausman has come in with "guns a blazin" for an Orioles rotation in bad need of some consistent quality. In two games started this season Gausman has a 2.45 ERA, a 0.909 WHIP, a 2.5 BB/9, and 8.2 K/9. While Gausman has always been proficient at preventing walks and producing strikeouts, he has had trouble in the past preventing HR and XBH. However in his two starts (11 IP) this season, Gausman has allowed a home run percentage of just 2.3% and an XBH percentage of just 6.8%. Gausman has the ability to limit hits, the ability to limit walks, and the ability to create a lot of strikeouts. If he finds a way to consistently limit HR and XBH like he has so far this season, especially in HR-friendly Camden Yards, he will be looking golden for the rest of the season, and certainly won't be available in 62% of leagues for long.
