ANALYSIS: At the beginning of the season it wasn't clear whether Brandon Drury would be an everyday player for the Arizona Diamondbacks. With a set outfield and the up-and-coming Jake Lamb manning third base, where did Drury fit into an improving offensive team? Well, his bat made it's own case for a consistent role in the lineup. Drury is batting .344 in the month of May, and .318 overall. He's failed to pick up a hit in only three games this month, hitting two long balls and driving in three (6 HR, 13 RBI on the season). His BABIP is an impressive .350 while his HR/FB is at an impressive 20.0%.
There's only a very small sample size that we can use to compare Drury's recent performance. Prior to the 2016 season, Drury played in only 20 games, accumulating 56 AB. He hit .214 in 2015 so the tremendous jump in average might be a bit deceiving. Although, there's no evidence to prove that he'll sustain or regress, so it would be wise to jump on him now while he's hot. Drury bats sixth in front of Yasmany Tomas, Jake Lamb, Paul Goldschmidt, etc., increasing his fantasy value. He strikes out 17.3% of the time, but the RBI opportunities will continue to present themselves.
