May is winding down, and that's certainly good news for some players. Others don't want the month to end.
There are a ton of intriguing stacks to choose from on Wednesday, all coming from two games. The Yankees are hosting the Blue Jays in the Bronx which always means the possibility of fly balls leaving the yard at a frequent rate.
In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball MLB lineup picks for DraftKings on 5/25/16. The DFS lineup picks will range from high-priced to low-priced options and identify options who will out-perform their expectations, including sleepers and value plays on DraftKings.
DFS Lineup Stacks to Target on DraftKings
New York Yankees versus Marco Estrada - Several current Yankees have had plenty of success against Marco Estrada; 10 total homers and 22 total ribbies, ,295 in 166 AB. Brian McCann (8-20, two ribbies) starts off the Bombers stack on Wednesday. Starlin Castro is batting .444 in 27 AB versus Estrada in his career, with two ribbies. Despite struggling for most of the season, Mark Teixeira has three hits in nine AB against Estrada, all of which have left the yard. Also consider Carlos Beltran who has taken Estrada deep three times in his career.
Toronto Blue Jays versus Ivan Nova - This contest between American League East rivals simply spells high scoring. Ivan Nova has been pitching very well of late, but a bunch of Blue Jays have had his number in their respective careers. The current Jays roster is batting .282 with three long balls, 27 ribbies, and 10 doubles against Nova. So who better to stack with than Toronto's big three; Jose Bautista (.348, HR, 7 RBI, 7 BB), Edwin Encarnacion (10-30, 3 2B, HR, 7 RBI), and Josh Donaldson (7-16, 2B).
Also consider the Texas Rangers versus Hector Santiago and the Los Angeles Angeles versus Colby Lewis.
DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider on DraftKings
Jake Arrieta (at STL, $13,100) - No matter what team he's facing, Jake Arrieta should be considered for Daily Fantasy every time his name gets called. It just so happens that he's dominated the St. Louis Cardinals in the past. The current Cardinals roster have picked up only 24 hits in 135 AB (.178) with no home runs and 30 strikeouts against Arrieta. Arrieta posted a 2.41 ERA in four starts versus St. Louis last season.
Junior Guerra (at ATL, $7,400) - Guerra has the pleasure of facing the league's worst offense on Wednesday. The Atlanta Braves also have no past experience against Guerra, and they have scored the least amount of runs in the league. Guerra is coming off two wins in his last two starts, striking out 11 batters in his most recent. He is a very affordable option that will free up a ton of salary cap space.
Also consider Hisashi Iwakuma (vs OAK, $7,500)
DFS Infielders to Consider on DraftKings
Catcher (C)
Brian McCann (vs TOR, $3,500) - McCann has been a solid source of power for the Bronx Bombers this season. It always helps when the Yankees are playing at Yankees stadium considering the short right field porch; a dream for lefties.
First Base (1B)
Albert Pujols (at TEX, $4,200) - Pujols has taken Colby Lewis deep three times in his career, batting .345 with seven ribbies in 29 AB.
Second Base (2B)
Rougned Odor (vs LAA, $3,900) - Odor is batting .476 in 21 career at-bats versus lefty Hector Santiago. He's also gone yard once and has driven in four ribbies against him.
Also consider Jean Segura (at ATL, 4,200)
Shortstop (SS)
Zack Cozart (at LAD, $3,500) - Cozart, known more for his defense in the past, has been a pleasant surprise at the plate so far in the 2016 campaign. He's batting well above .300 with five homers, and can be a sneaky steals threat.
Third Base (3B)
Josh Donaldson (at NYY, $4,900) - Donaldson has no home runs or runs batted in against Ivan Nova, but is batting close to .500 against him. He's had a rough May but has recently gone yard twice in three games, and is a solid part of Toronto stack.
DFS Outfielders to Consider on DraftKings
Carlos Beltran (vs TOR, $3,800) - Beltran has easily been the hottest Yankee of late, and is coming off an impressive four game series against the Oakland Athletics. Beltran batted .500 in 18 AB versus the A's, with eight ribbies, a homer, and five two-baggers.
Mike Trout (at TEX, $5,300) - Trout has taken Colby Lewis deep four times in his career. He's also hitting .394 with 11 ribbies in 33 career AB.
Kole Calhoun (at TEX, $4,100) - Calhoun is the final piece to the Los Angeles stack on Wednesday, batting .387 in 31 career AB versus Lewis. He's also picked up a double, triple, home run, and five ribbies against him.
