Analysis: The Rays have been hitting for major power in 2016 and Brandon Guyer has gotten in on the game in a big way. Guyer currently has a slash line of .327/.410/.564 and has hit five HR and stolen one base in 101 AB. Power/speed is certainly a sleepy trait of Guyer's. Last season for the Rays in 332 AB he hit eight HR and stole 10 bases for a power/speed figure of 8.9. While he hasn't been running as much, he has improved his isolated power from .148 last year to .238 this season. There hasn't been a single situation this season in which Guyer has struggled either. Guyer has a .849 OPS against RHP, a 1.126 OPS against LHP, a 1.036 OPS at Home, and a .919 OPS on the road. Whether he brings back his base running or not, he has been phenomenal with the bat this season and is too widely available for a guy in this level of "in the zone".
