Welcome to week nine of MLB on DraftKings. It's a brand new week on DraftKings and another chance to hit it big. We have a smaller slate on tap (10 games) starting at 7:05 ET. The pitching isn't deep, but there's gems to be found.
As for Vegas insights, the only heavy moneyline favorites tonight is the Cubs (-245), making Jon Lester a tasty play. The contests with the highest over/unders are the Astros-Rangers (9.5), Blue Jays-Tigers (9) and Rays-Diamondbacks (9).
In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball MLB lineup picks for DraftKings on 6/6/16. The DFS lineup picks will range from high-priced to low-priced options and identify options who will out-perform their expectations, including sleepers and value plays on DraftKings.
DFS Lineup Stacks to Target on DraftKings
Rays versus Robbie Ray
The Rays are always a fun stack, mainly because participants don't seem them as a potent offense. In reality their .811 OPS is third in baseball and their 22 home runs versus LHP are second in baseball. Ray has been awful at home this year, posting a 6.93 ERA and allowing hitters to hit .321 versus him. Love my right-handers in this contest.
Cubs versus Adam Morgan
The biggest favorite deserves to be mentioned. Adam Morgan has a 7.11 ERA and has given up six runs in three of his past four contests, including an outing in Chicago two weeks ago. The Cubs .791 OPS versus LHP is fifth overall. All of the Cubs are in play today.
Also Consider: Rockies versus Mike Bolsinger
DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider on DraftKings
Jon Lester (SP, CHC) - $11,600
The biggest favorite versus a putrid offense. What's not to like? The Phillies are 29th among teams versus LHP and this should be no different with Lester on the mound. He's worth the price in 50/50 contests.
Michael Fulmer (SP, DET) - $9,900
Fulmer deserves more credit in fantasy circles; he is producing a 9.0 K/9 rate with a potent offense behind him. The Blue Jays have a potent offense, but they aren't clicking at full cylinders at this point. Ownership should be low today, making him a safe tourney play.
Matt Shoemaker (SP, LAA) - $7,700
If Shoemaker is not rostered in seasonal leagues you need to stop reading and go grab him. He has a 31/0 K/BB ratio in his past three starts. When a pitcher does that, you ask questions later and grab a share. The Yankees .690 OPS versus RHP is 25th in baseball. I particularly like Shoemaker on DraftKings thanks to the depressed price.
DFS Infielders to Consider on DraftKings
Catcher (C)
David Ross (C, CHC) - $2,800
The goal here is to minimize costs behind the plate. Ross has a 1.182 OPS versus LHP and had a HR in his last appearance versus Morgan. If Ross doesn't play, I would grab Yasmani Grandal ($2,500).
First Base (1B)
Logan Morrison (1B, TB) - $3,000
LoMo has been under the radar in fantasy circles. He has six HR in his last 56 AB, including a few steals. Don't be fooled by the lefty-lefty matchup; he's hitting .333 versus them in 2016. At a bare minimum price for first base, LoMo is a must play today.
Second Base (2B)
Steve Pearce (2B, TB) - $3,500
Pearce has torched lefties this season, posting a .390/.468/.829 versus them. He's a must-play at a discounted rate.
Shortstop (SS)
Corey Seager (SS, LAD) - $4,200
If it ain't broke don't fix it. Seager smacked five home runs in his last series with Atlanta and will be at home once again. Nine of his 12 HR have come at Dodger Stadium.
Third Base (3B)
Nolan Arenado (3B, COL) - $4,500
I love Evan Longoria today but given the inflated price tag I'll settle for Arenado. Arenado went off on his teammates in San Diego and he's backed up the talk with his bat. He went 3-for-3 with four runs, three RBI, and a home run last night and looks to keep it rolling versus Mike Bolsinger.
DFS Outfielders to Consider on DraftKings
Charlie Blackmon (OF, COL) - $4,300
All about grabbing players in hot streaks. He's hitting .300 with three home runs and eight RBI in the past week and has a solid matchup with Mike Bolsinger.
Nomar Maraza (OF, TEX) - $4,300
There's plenty of moving parts in Texas right now but Maraza has cemented his spot in the lineup. He has a .320/.379/.566 split versus RHP in 2016.
Trayce Thompson (OF, LAD) - $3,100
This pricing is criminal. The only Dodgers doing much aside from Corey Seager are Chase Utley and Trayce Thompson. Thompson provides a power/speed combo and has recently moved to the 3-hole in LA. He's hitting .313 with a 2/3 split in the past seven games.
