BALLER MOVE: Add in Two-Catcher Leagues
OWNED IN: 11% of Fleaflicker Leagues
ANALYSIS: Jason Castro has had a strange season at the plate, full of mixed signals. For instance, he has a poor BA at .219, and a mediocre slugging percentage at .391. However, he has a very solid OBP of .355 fueled by a fantastic walk rate of 17.4% in improvement from 8.8% in 2015. Also, even though his four HR in 128 AB don't look too enticing, his isolated power figure has improved from .154 to .172. His figures can be explained clearly month-to-month. In April, Castro was horrid. He had a .140/.271/.240 slash line and zero HR in 50 AB. In May however, Castro redeemed himself in a big way with a .268/.402/.507 slash line and all four of his HR. In a limited sample size this month, Castro has again looked solid with a .286/.444/.286 slash line. With Castro's improved eye of the strike zone, improved isolated power, and rejuvenated May, he is a great steal in Two-Catcher leagues.
