Analysis: Players who have made the journey from the South Korean league to the MLB have made quite an impact for their respective teams in 2016. It seems like Byung-Ho Park and Dae-Ho Lee have stolen some of the praise that should be going Hyun Soo Kim's way. So far this season Kim has a slash line of .333/.417/.433, has hit one HR, and has stolen one base in one attempt in 90 AB. Kim may only have an isolated power figure of .100, but his balanced and disciplined work at the plate has led to his solid offensive output. Kim has a strikeout percentage of just 12.6% which is 8.6% below the MLB average, and he has a walk percentage of 10.7%. By limiting strikeouts and walking frequently, Kim has added a fantastic OBP figure to his already great BA. In Korea Kim had a career slash line of .318/.406/.488, had six seasons of 13 or more HR, and had two double-digit SB seasons. Kim's Korean league career spanned from 2006 to 2015 and he is still just 28 years old. His days of adding power to already great contact and throwing in some stolen bases aren't finished--in fact they have barely started in the U.S.
