Analysis: At 26 years old, it is strange how Robbie Grossman seems to already have the stigma of someone who Fantasy Baseball Managers are sick of after three seasons and 764 plate appearances with the Astros. This season with the 21-48 and MLB worst Minnesota Twins, Grossman seems to be jarring people's memories as to why he was once a promising prospect. In 97 AB for the miserable Twins, Grossman has a slash line of .289/.425/.536 with five home runs. After walking in 9.3% of his plate appearances in 2015, Grossman has had an eagle eye of the strike zone in 2016 with an amazing 19.2% walk rate. He may be striking out at a 21.7% clip, but at least it has been cut down from his ugly 31.5% rate last year. While part of Grossman's appeal has always been a nice power/speed mix with 2013 and 2014 power/speed numbers of 4.8 and 7.2, he has attempted to steal just two bases, unsuccessfully, in 62 stolen base opportunities. While that is slightly disappointing; he has significantly improved HR%, XBH% and isolated power with 4.2%, 11.7% and .247. While the steals would be welcomed, his plate discipline and power improvements make him far too appealing to cry over spilled milk.
