Analysis: Former number one prospect Jurickson Profar had OPS figures of .647 and .644 in 303 AB in 2012 and 2013 before taking a two-year hiatus from the major leagues. In 2016, he has already had 92 AB with the Texas Rangers who currently hold the best record in baseball, and he has made the most of it. Profar has three home runs, a slash line of .348/.375/.511, and a disciplined strikeout percentage of 15.4%. He was caught in his only stolen base attempt, but that shouldn't frighten anyone with interest in the 23-year old infielder, as he had seasons of 23 and 16 stolen bases in his most recent full seasons in the minors.
Profar's most notable splits in 2016 are demonstrated by his 1.099 OPS against RHP and 1.033 OPS when playing at home in Arlington. Profar has had a rocky road to the MLB, but he seems to have earned legitimate playing time for the Rangers and he is producing with consistency in that time.
