Analysis: When you are a team like the Cubs who has exciting young talent at every position knocking the ball 400 feet every night, it is almost obnoxious to have a utility prospect simultaneously thriving like Javier Baez. The 23-year old highly touted player has taken 199 AB for the Cubbies this season and has a .271/.310/.447 slash line, eight home runs and five stolen bases in six attempts for an 83.3% success rate. After having major issues with striking out in years past, Baez finally seems to have found some discipline at the plate. He was striking out 41.5% of the time in 2014. That is a lot of whiffs.
