FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Lineup Picks (10/17/16): MLB DFS Advice

By mikelachance816 [CC BY 2.0 (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/2.0)], via Wikimedia Commons

Welcome to our Monday edition of FanDuel picks for the Championship Series. The Blue Jays look to climb back from their 0-2 hole while the Cubs will hope Jake Arrieta can take home-field advantage back from the Dodgers in the series tied at one.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball MLB lineup picks for FanDuel on 10/17/16 and 10/18/16. Keep in mind the games for this slate are Game 3 of each Championship Series. The DFS lineup picks will range from high-priced to low-priced options and identify options who will out-perform their expectations, including sleepers and value plays on FanDuel.

Editor's Note: New users that sign up on Fantasy Aces, make a $20 deposit, and enter any game will receive our full season NFL (or NBA) Premium Pass for free, a $59.99 value. Just email info@rotoballer.com with your new FantasyAces username - and boom, that's it! We will email you with your Premium pass.

DFS Lineup Stacks to Target for FanDuel

Toronto Blue Jays versus Trevor Bauer

Bauer is making his first start since lacerating his right pinkie while fixing a drone. You can't make this stuff up people. Bauer has a strong arsenal of pitches, but his inconsistency (3.32 BB/9) leads to unnecessary pitches and extended innings, something you cannot afford versus the Blue Jays. If this doesn't convince you, he stated The Phantom Menace was his favorite Star Wars. I rest my case.

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider for FanDuel

Jake Arrieta (SP, CHC) $10,200

Arrieta is the top pitcher on the slate, but he earns a spot here primarily due to the lack of options. Bauer is in hostile Toronto while Rich Hill hasn't eclipsed 4.1 innings this postseason. That leaves us with Arrieta, who was excellent in a Game 3 no-decision (6 IP, 2 ER, 5 K). He's the safest 50/50 option on the slate.

Marcus Stroman (SP, TOR) $7,500

Here's my pick of the day. Stroman has shown he elevates his game in big moments and has been vocal to the media that this series isn't over. He has limited the Indians to two runs in 14 innings this season and is a heavy favorite to pick up the win.

DFS Infielders to Consider for FanDuel

Russell Martin (C, TOR) $2,700

Martin's bat has woken up in the postseason and he has a great opportunity today. He's 3-for-6 (.500) with a home run versus Bauer and was significantly better at home (.781 OPS) in 2016.

Edwin Encarnacion (1B, TOR) $3,900

Encarnacion was quiet in the first two games of this series, but look for things to change back at Rogers Centre. Encarnacion had a .943 OPS at home in comparison to a .834 OPS on the road this year.

Ben Zobrist (2B, CHC) $3,000

Zobrist may have lost his place at second base to Javier Baez, but Zobrist will continue to see himself in the Cubs lineup. He has a .301/.401/.455 split versus left-handed pitching.

Javier Baez (SS, CHC) $2,900

Baez has been the highlight of the Cubs postseason, collecting three hits in two NLCS games while breaking up Clayton Kershaw's perfect game and turning a cheeky double play in Game 2. Baez had a .311/.375/.475 split versus left-handed pitching and is the best SS play on the slate.

Josh Donaldson (3B, TOR) $3,700

If you want to play it safe, look no further. Donaldson is hitting .462 with a 1.174 OPS in this postseason. If you choose to pivot, Kris Bryant makes an excellent play with the R/L matchup.

DFS Outfielders to Consider for FanDuel

Dexter Fowler (OF, CHC) $3,400

Fowler has had a quiet Championship Series so far but this is a prime spot to break out. Fowler hit .296 versus left-handed pitching in 2016 and players may have lost interest in Fowler due to his slow start to the NLCS.

Ezequiel Carrera (OF, TOR) $2,600

Carrera has been an unexpected spark plug for the Blue Jays, hitting .444 in the ALDS. Devon Travis cannot stay healthy, leaving the leadoff spot for Carrera. Should Carrera sit, pay up for Jose Bautista.

Jorge Soler (OF, CHC) $2,300

Here's your tourney play. Soler had a .812 OPS versus LHP and should he find himself in the lineup for Jason Heyward, he's an excellent low-ownership choice on a day those are few and far between.
