FanDuel Quarterback - Week 16 DFS Picks
Drew Brees (vs TB, $8,500)
Drew Brees is always an elite option when he’s playing in New Orleans. He has thrown for 400 more yards and four more touchdowns at home than on the road in as many games this season. He gets a matchup against a surging Tampa Bay defense, but they haven’t been elite this season, and the Saints can seem to score on anyone at home. They are -3.5 point favorites in a game set at 52.5 points, as well, which means both teams will be doing plenty of scoring this week. Brees can be used in all leagues.
Matt Ryan (at CAR, $8,100)
Matt Ryan has been struggling a bit recently without Julio Jones in the lineup, but he’s questionable to return this week. Ryan gets an elite matchup against the Panthers, who have struggled to defend this pass this season. Ryan dominated them for 503 yards and four touchdowns in their week four matchup, as well. The Falcons are -3.5 point favorites, and the game is set at 52.5 points. If Jones is active this week, Ryan can be used in all leagues. If he isn’t, Ryan is best suited for tournaments.
FanDuel Running Backs - Week 16 DFS Picks
LeGarrette Blount (vs NYJ, $7,200)
LeGarrette Blount has been enjoying a great season, currently ranking seventh in the NFL in rushing yards and first in the NFL in rushing touchdowns. He isn’t a huge part in the Patriots passing attack, but he makes up for that with his touchdown potential. He gets a decent matchup against the Jets this week and should be used to run out the clock for most of the second half as the Patriots are huge -16.5 point favorites this week. Blount makes a safe option, and he can be used in all leagues.
Ty Montgomery (vs MIN, $6,300)
The Packers finally unleashed Ty Montgomery last week, and he took 16 carries for 162 yards and two touchdowns against a tough Bears rush defense. He’s also a threat for a few receptions out of the backfield each week. He gets a matchup against the Vikings this week, and they have struggled to defend the run this season. Montgomery flashed great potential, and he’s a high upside running back this week.
FanDuel Wide Receivers - Week 16 DFS Picks
Antonio Brown (vs BAL, $8,300)
The Steelers are playing for playoffs, which means they will likely try to get their stars involved in the offense early and often. Brown has been struggling a bit recently, but he’s a player that comes with elite upside on a weekly basis. He gets a tough matchup against the Ravens, but he had seven receptions for 85 yards and one touchdown against them in their first matchup. Brown isn’t going to come cheap, but he’s a great option this week.
DeAndre Hopkins (vs CIN, $6,600)
DeAndre Hopkins has struggled for much of the season, but that has more to do with the play of Brock Osweiler than Hopkins talents. The Texans pulled Osweiler for Tom Savage last week, and Hopkins saw 17 targets last week. He should be peppered with targets again this week, and he gets a decent matchup against the Bengals. He still comes with a fairly low price tag for his talent, and Hopkins makes an outstanding tournament option this week.
FanDuel Tight End - Week 16 DFS Picks
Jermaine Gresham (at SEA, $4,500)
Jermaine Gresham is the minimum price on this slate, which is a bit too cheap for his recent role in the Cardinals offense. He’s averaging seven targets per game over his last four games, and he’s a red zone threat for Arizona. He gets a tough matchup against the Seahawks, but he has been consistent enough to be used in all leagues, especially on a week that is breaking into smaller slates.
FanDuel Defense - Week 16 DFS Picks
New England Patriots D/ST (vs NYJ, $5,000)
Both the Patriots defense and special teams have looked good this season and they are coming off a great game against the Broncos. They get a much easier matchup this week against the Jets, who have been starting replacement level players recently. New England is a ridiculous -16.5 point favorite in a game set at only 44.5 points. It wouldn’t be surprising if they were able to shut the Jets out, while creating multiple turnovers. They are an elite option in all leagues this week.
