BALLER MOVE: Target ~ 210
CURRENT ADP: ~ 246
ANALYSIS: David Wright beginning the year on the DL opens up the door for Jose Reyes to start at third base for the Mets this season. In 60-games last season he showed us he still has something left in the tank as the Mets leadoff hitter. He hit .267/.326/.443 with eight HR, nine steals, and 45 runs scored. Reyes was a different hitter last season than he has been throughout his career, and it was a good thing for fantasy purposes.
His strikeout rate was the highest it has ever been last season at 17.6%, and his swinging strike rate of 8.2% was his highest since his rookie year. His ISO of .176 was the highest he’s had since 2008, he posted the highest hard hit rate of his career, and his highest fly ball rate last season. Point being, Reyes sold out a bit for power last season, and it showed. I still don’t think Reyes can reach the 20 HR plateau, but a 15 HR, 25 steal season is not out of the realm of possibilities.
