Analysis: Tommy Joseph catches a lot of flack from Fantasy Baseball Managers and those who believe he is just the Philadelphia gatekeeper at first base during the organization's rebuild, and the reasoning is perplexing. This season Joseph has smacked eight homers along with holding a slash line of .248/.310/.763. While several of his offensive categories have been trending downward this year, Joseph is still a reliable deep-threat with a HR% at 4.6 percent and an isolated power figure of .204.
The pudgy-faced first baseman started the season horrifically with a .476 OPS for April, but has turned on the burners with an impressive seven home runs and .973 OPS in the month of May. Also take note: He has heavy home/away splits with OPS of .858/.687, and he holds an OPS of .840 with five HR against LHP in just 39 AB.
