BALLER MOVE: Add in All Leagues
OWNED IN: 32% of Yahoo Leagues
ANALYSIS: Rookie Hunter Renfroe is living up to his billing as a masher. Renfroe has gone deep four times in the last two weeks, giving him 13 HR and 30 RBI on the season. While he's nowhere near Aaron Judge territory, he is making a case for consideration as an NL Rookie of the Year candidate. This shouldn't be a surprise, as he hit to the tune of 30 HR, 105 RBI and a .306 average in Triple-A last season. While he brought the power with him to the bigs, the average hasn't followed. Renfroe is hitting .231 at the moment, although his .270 BABIP seems bound to improve. That won't happen unless he stops chasing so many pitches out of the zone (35.9% O-Swing%) and missing (59.1% O-Contact%). He has shown progress by walking 15 times in May after taking just two free passes in April.
Renfroe should be owned in all keeper leagues by this point, but he has shown enough power to warrant ownership in the majority of mixed leagues as well. If Renfroe improves his plate discipline and overall contact rate, we could see him take the next step by boosting his averages. By year's end, it wouldn't be shocking to see him provide OF3 value.
